The lockdown has now been lifted for all schools involved.
There was a reported shooting on Adam's Street near AHS. AHS and LCP were placed on lockdown. The lockdown has been lifted at LCP but is still in effect at AHS to allow a helicopter to land. All students are safe. Busses are being held at WWE so students may arrive home a little later than usual. We will lift the lockdown as soon as we receive an all clear that the helicopter has successfully landed and left.

It's that time of the year again, our Annual Community Night/Industry Showcase at Abbeville County Career Center. Every year we host this event to showcase Career and Technical Education programs offered by Abbeville County Career Center. This year, expect wholesome fun as we continue to build our relationship with community members, industries, and schools. The admission, hotdogs, chips and a drink are free for the first 500 people who register, so bring the whole family and enjoy great food, games, classic cars, and toe-tappin’ live entertainment.

ACSD would like to thank Langston Moore and Preston Thorne with JustaChicken who visited Westwood recently. They met with the kids on Friday last week from 9-1 and parents from 6-7 promoting literacy. Huge success!
In response to requests to tour AHS and DHS from the community and the media, and in an effort to be transparent in the facilities planning process, Abbeville County School District will host public tours on September 10 and 12, 2019.

Tour Times: 5:30 and 6:30
Guided tours will begin in the AHS Auditorium. Please enter through the front of the school.

Abbeville County School District, in partnership with Freshwater Coast Community Foundation (FCCF), is pleased to announce a new memorial scholarship to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Betty Jo Moore Hall's educational career. This scholarship will be awarded to students graduating from Abbeville County School District who plan to major in education at Lander University, Erskine College or Piedmont Technical College. Application details and additional information will be released in the near future.
