Abbeville County School District (ACSD) is excited to hold in-person graduation for our seniors in the AHS and DHS football stadiums. ACSD will be following the guidelines suggested by the South Carolina State Department of Education (SCDE), the Governor's Executive Orders, and others. We are asking the public to support the District by following the procedures put in place to ensure the safety of all in attendance. All graduating seniors will be given guidelines for the graduation ceremony specific to their school. We encourage attendees to please read over these carefully before the ceremony. Guests will be instructed on the time gates open, where to park, where to enter and exit, etc. We will provide live-streaming of the ceremonies.
AHS will hold graduation May 29, 2020 at 7:00 PM. The rain date will be May 30, 2020 at 7:00 PM.
DHS will hold graduation May 28, 2020 at 6:00 PM. The rain date will be May 30, 2020 at 6:00 PM.
After conferring with Abbeville Area Medical Center on the expected dates for the peak number of positive COVID-19 cases for Abbeville County and following the suggested guidelines set forth by the SCDE, the District is limiting the number of guests to 2 persons per graduate. Tickets will be required for entry. Guests will be required to maintain social distancing of 6 feet while on school campus. No one will be allowed to congregate in parking lots before and after the ceremony. All guests are encouraged to wear masks. Spectators without tickets will not be allowed on campus.
Look for additional details from graduating seniors and information that will be shared through the school's website and social media accounts.

Per State Superintendent Molly Spearman, schools will remain closed for the rest of the year. More details will be forthcoming about procedures for turning in instructional packets, returning devices and textbooks, and gathering items from lockers. Please understand, just because we are not returning for face-to-face instruction does not mean instruction stops for this school year. We remain committed to having students ready for the next grade, course, or next steps post-graduation. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days and stay safe!
It's Census Time!
The U.S. Census, which is conducted every 10 years, directly impacts federal funding every year for schools and communities in South Carolina. This funding impacts special education, teacher training, technology, school lunch assistance, Head Start and after-school programs. According to the Count All Kids Campaign, more than two million young children nationally were missed in the 2010 census. If we undercount children in the 2020 census, South Carolina could miss out on funding for the programs our students depend on. If you haven't completed the census yet, please do so as soon as possible!
