Across the district, schools honored veterans on this special day. Students read books about Veterans Day and wrote thank you notes to veterans in their families or community. At CTES, music teacher, Joyce Montalvo, put together the annual Veteran's Day Program. First-grade students performed musical numbers. Sixth and seventh graders created patriotic artwork and the Dixie High School Band provided music. Staff Sergeant Bobby Russell was a guest speaker. He served in the Army for 12 years and was stationed in Iraq. District Office staff ate lunch with veterans and shared in the celebrations.
